{"id":75,"date":"2008-02-26T16:39:18","date_gmt":"2008-02-26T15:39:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.marcurselli.com\/2008\/02\/26\/ennio-morricones-grammy-award\/"},"modified":"2008-02-26T16:46:13","modified_gmt":"2008-02-26T15:46:13","slug":"ennio-morricones-grammy-award","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.marcurselli.com\/blog\/ennio-morricones-grammy-award\/","title":{"rendered":"Ennio Morricone&#8217;s Grammy Award"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I haven&#8217;t posted an update in a while because I have been way too busy working on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.myspace.com\/michaelhardie\" target=\"_blank\">Michael Hardie<\/a>&#8216;s new record, however many things have happened since I started recording that record back in December in good ol&#8217; Texas.Most notably TWO (not one!) of the tracks from the\u00a0Sony Classical CD\u00a0&#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/We_All_Love_Ennio_Morricone\" target=\"_blank\">We All Love Ennio Morricone<\/a>&#8221; were\u00a0nominated for a Grammy Award in the same &#8220;Best Rock Instrumental Performance&#8221; category (which might sound a little strange since the album came out on Sony Classical, but whatever).<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Metallica<\/span> and <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Bruce Springsteen<\/span>\u00a0were the two artists whose tribute to Ennio on this great CD were nominated and ultimately\u00a0<span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Springsteen<\/span>&#8216;s song snatched the award from Rush, Satriani, Vai and Metallica themselves.
